If
you would like an exotically beautiful, extremely soft, gentle, intelligent,
outgoing, curious, confident and friendly cat, a Bengal is for you!
It's hard to describe
Bengals because they are so unique and diverse. They are highly sociable,
extremely curious, are excellent with children and adapt well to other
animals you may already have in your home. Each Bengal will have his
or her own distinct personality. You may find one peeking at you from
the rim of your bathtub with a keen interest, or one may carry his toys
in his mouth everywhere he goes, another may like water and gravitate
toward it any time he hears it and even like to go out in the rain,
yet another may like to play fetch.
The
Bengal coat is extremely soft, very smooth, velvety and pelt-like. They
do very little shedding. They are fastidious about cleaning themselves
and are concientious litter box users. Adult Bengals are medium to large
in size with males weighing anywhere from 16-22 pounds and females slightly
smaller at 10 to 16 pounds. Their claws are quite sharp but they are
very gentle when using them.
They
are very smart and catch on quickly to what you expect of them and the
"no - no's" of your household. They are always interested in what you
are doing and don't be surprised if when you are doing laundry, they
jump into either the washer or dryer ahead of the clothes. In this regard,
you need to be very careful not to launder THEM. Not much you do will
get by your Bengal. That's for sure.
